MOVIST already asks that you mark the movie as seen to be able to rate it. The issue here is that trakt doesn’t enforce this and we just fetch the data.
If this helps, we could hide the rating while the movie is not released. The ratings would still be taken into account once it is out and users could still mark it watched and rate them if they saw it before everyone (prerelease,...).
We are planning to add a tagging system which will allow you to put a movie in a “category”.
We're working on this right now. We took a year to launch SERIST but we're back on MOVIST for a super release in the summer.
We'll achieve that with custom lists. It's a feature we have on our to-do list. We just needed to do other things first as part of the basics block before building this.
This is planned. This feature should be available with MOVIST 2.
We've been planning to add search by actor some time ago. Didn't update the suggestion in the meantime (my bad).
We then got busy with SERIST and other stuff. A lot of suggestions have been planned but not worked on since the beginning of MOVIST. We've release 13 major versions in almost two years before taking a break to concentrate on SERIST. We had to make some choices and put some features before other ones.
This will be possible in MOVIST 2. A new version we are currently working on.
Thanks for your feedback anyway. I'll update the answer right away.
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
SERIST is great but it wouldn't be so great if we didn't take the time off of MOVIST to build it ;)
We know a lot of things are planned in the feedback forum and it is because they are... planned. We don't know when we are going to work on them but we want to inform you that "YES, this is something that will get done".
We didn't share that info publicly yet but we'll soon be working on a brand new 2.0 version of MOVIST. The iPad Pro support will certainly be part of it.
We’ll do that. We are still thinking of the best way to do it but it is indeed a mandatory feature for MOVIST.
I know it is frustrating to wait for a feature this long. We also would like to go faster and work on MOVIST fulltime. Trust me, it would be a dream. We are working at a slower pace and always try to work on features with the most added value possible.
So for the moment, we are working on the TV Shows stuff and after that, we'll be working on the categorization of movies (most upvoted suggestion for the moment).
This feature will be added in a future version of MOVIST. It won't be in a near near future and we don't have an ETA but it is planned.
No ETA for the moment. We are working on the User eXperience for this feature at the moment.
1. The problem with iCloud sync is that it was too unpredictable when we tested it. Also, we prefer to have a sync with trakt for multi-platform purposes. We may use iCloud one day but mostly for backup, not for multi-devices synching.
2. Split screen support is on our todo list. Not odd at all ;)
3. It would be awesome indeed.
It's already (kinda) available. We didn't want to add a fast scrolling bar so we did hide the feature a bit.
If you pinch a list in your library, you'll be able to group the list by a lot of things. If you group it (icon in the bottom right corner), you will see the groups and you will be able to jump to a specific group.
Does this answer your need? Is it clear enough?
What do you mean exactly by that?
Thanks for your feedback.
We plan to develop a kind of movie list importer in a near future. It won't be integrated to MOVIST. We are thinking of a web solution to import movie lists from a lot of sources to trakt. So basically, you would import a list of movies to trakt to be able to find them in MOVIST.
We are currently working on displaying the trakt lists in MOVIST.
For the moment, the trakt API does not provide the things you are asking for.
We could achieve something similar to what you are asking for by using trakt as a player (with scrabble functions) but this has to be analysed our side.
We are looking for ways to give more results in the discover but the more we show the weaker the results will be.
We'll need a way to do that. I'm adding that to the planning. Thanks for your feedback.
You are right but we would like user to scan movies at the store to put them on their wishlist or watchlist too. Or even to have more info about the movie. I’m not sure the movie should be automatically added to the collection even if it should be the case most of the time.
That's exactly what we are thinking to do.
We are going to provide a "Scanned Movies" list so you'll be able to scroll through you scanned movies and add them in your different lists.
You can (kinda) already do something.
You can long press the mark as seen action (it won't dismiss the action sheet) and then rate the movie.
Tell me if it answers your need.
Could you please give the names of these apps?
If other apps can do it, why not use them to import your library to trakt.tv and then use Movist or another app to browse and manage your collection?
